Each student has their own unique life journey and learning math can become an arena for self growth and discovery.

From Parents

"We feel so lucky to have Dimona tutoring our daughter. She started to struggle with math in middle school but under Dimona's tutelage, the turnaround has been dramatic. While math will probably never be her favorite subject, the confidence she now has in her ability to understand it and do well in it at school is wonderful to see. She has gotten straight A's since she started working with Dimona and, like icing on the cake, she often tells us how much she likes Dimona and the way she teaches. We recommend Dimona without reservation."

“We had an amazing experience working with Dimona Levari.  We utilized Dimona’s tutoring services for over two years during middle school and the start of high school. We worked with Dimona to help my daughter catch up with her classmates and are pleasantly surprised that she is now a year ahead in her math journey.  After determining my daughter’s learning style and strengths, Dimona explained processes in a way my daughter could easily comprehend.  Dimona also helped determine the best strategies and techniques that my daughter can use while learning and testing (in all subjects), as she has severe test anxiety.  I continually recommend Dimona as she is not only an amazing math tutor, but an invaluable asset to help our children navigate these difficult years”.

“Dimona is a gifted teacher who brings so much knowledge, wisdom, and insight to her work. She has tutored one of my sons as he has struggled through a difficult middle-school math class and given him not just the tools and understanding, but also the confidence he needs to get back on track. And the math classes his younger brother took with her over two years at Edmonds Heights have been some of his best learning experiences so far. These are two very different kids with very different approaches to learning math, and she has met them both where they are and helped each of them make great strides. I’m so glad our family found her!”

“Dimona has been an incredible asset for our daughter. We have an incredibly bright teenager who happens to have dyslexia. During her elementary school years, she was always finding herself trying to catch up. Because of this she didn’t necessarily see herself as bright and capable – especially in math. In eighth grade she began algebra. As parents, we just knew she needed something to give her an edge to ensure she understood. Through a teacher referral we found Dimona and with her coaching our daughter received an A on every test this year. More important than test scores is that our daughter has gained incredible confidence. She now believes she is capable and bright, talks about high school and honors classes with confidence and believes she is college bound. On a personal level, our daughter trusts Dimona and values her input. Dimona has become an important part of her growing up.”

“Dimona Levari was instrumental in helping my son Sam pass Algebra II and Geometry during his junior and senior years in high school. Math has been a perennial struggle for my son, who was diagnosed with ADD when he was 12. With the help of Dimona's weekly tutorials, he was able to pass his Math subjects and graduate.

I remember how Dimona would welcome me graciously into her home and put me at ease, openly sharing with me her thoughts on Sam's academic progress. It struck me that here was a tutor who was genuinely and deeply invested in her students' success. My son describes Dimona as "extremely smart, energetic, and helpful." We are grateful to her for helping to make his high school experience a success.”

“Dimona has been my daughter’s math tutor for 5 years and I feel lucky to have found her.  She quickly determined the source of my daughter’s learning difficulties.  Dimona's individually tailored program allowed my daughter to work through issues one problem at a time.  Dimona creates a strong student teacher relationship that encourages open communication that helped my daughter gain confidence in her ability to solve math problems.  I highly recommend her services.”

“Dimona tutored our son in math from 3rd grade through high school. He was successful in math due, in no small part, to Dimona’s expert and patient instruction.  Our son looked forward to meeting with Dimona, not only because he knew he could rely on her to explain challenging math concepts, but also because she was, and continues to be, a mentor and wise counselor to him.  As a parent, I appreciated being able to turn over math tutoring duties to Dimona, who has a gift for connecting with young people in a very genuine way.  I always felt that Dimona was interested in helping our son be successful in math and moreover, in life.  I would give her my highest recommendation.”

“Dimona Levari is a treasure. In elementary school, our son was one of those "out of the box" kids with an attention disorder who had difficulty at first with the traditional classroom model. He started working with Dimona in the second grade, and quickly developed a terrific enthusiasm for his sessions with her. Her ability to work with him in whichever direction and at whatever pace he wanted to go, while at the same time ensuring that all fundamental building blocks were covered, is her great talent. At the same time, their casual conversations about other subjects such as relationships with other kids vs adults, responsibility, ethics, etc were often even more valuable than that day's math lesson. She helped him discover both enjoyment and pride from doing his best work, and it is this, as much as the numbers and formulas, that has really stayed with him.  Later on, in the mainstream as a freshman in high school, he achieved the highest possible grade on the AP Calculus exam. Now, as a sophomore, he is studying calculus-based AP physics and more advanced math, doing well, and best of all, still loving it.  Reflecting back on those things I know we've done right as parents, I would say that the time he spent with Dimona was by far one of our best educational investments.”

“We brought our son to Dimona as a rambunctious but precocious kid with ADD. She managed to keep both his love and interest in Math going while giving him a solid grounding in the material. She regularly checked to see what he needed to refresh. He worked with her all the way through Trigonometry and Precalculus, she helped him prepare for the End of Course exams in Algebra and Geometry, both in the same year, and he not only passed, but got the highest scores possible - as a 5th grader.  He will tell you that she was instrumental in his development as a person. This was because of the bond of friendship that developed between them over the years. He loved the advice and her care for how he presented himself to the world. I would tell anyone that looks to Dimona for aide in the education of their child, that she will work to understand your child's learning needs and use these to help your child succeed in Math to the best of his or her ability while fostering confidence and growth.  Dimona is the reason that our son continues to thrive in, and love, Mathematics.”

“Dimona is a reliable tutor we have used for both our children over the last 8 years.  She has bridged the gap our kids have needed when the math teachers at school were not the best fit for them personally.

She has helped our kids understand the curriculum as it progressed from easy to difficult.

My kids say, Dimona understands where kids are at and is able to connect with them.

My husband and I feel that our kids have also learned some other life skills such as, how to study, testing strategies, how to prepare for tests, how to cope with inefficient teachers. These lessons will apply beyond the math class.

For us this has been the best investment we could have made in our children’s education.”

"Dimona helped our daughter prepare, through individual tutoring sessions, for the Compass test at Shoreline Community College where she was thrilled to place in Calculus I as a high school junior. Whether through classroom instruction or tutoring, Dimona helps each student reach their potential and discover their abilities with patient and honest guidance."

“Our family met Dimona two years ago, since then our daughter, now 5th grade, has excelled remarkably in math! She is more confident in class and now enjoying school!!  What I appreciate most about Dimona is her ability to provide a safe and comfortable environment for my daughter to learn. She is truly a very special person!!”

“Dimona was a math tutor for our two children from middle school through high school.  She had an amazing ability to discern what each of our children needed to succeed in their journey through mathematics.  Both children had different needs and abilities and Dimona was able to pull the best out of each of them, allowing them to comprehend, interpret and succeed at their own pace.  Our children loved her and looked forward to their time with her.”

“Our kids’ school has a good academic reputation, however, with huge class sizes our kids were getting lost in the shuffle and not getting the individual attention they needed.  Our daughters have now been seeing Dimona for several years and her tutoring has been instrumental in building their understanding and especially their confidence in math.  Dimona makes them comfortable and really tunes into their learning styles.  Our older daughter, now in eighth grade, has become a straight A algebra student.  This is a kid that never considered herself a “math person” but now looks forward to her weekly tutoring visits!”

“We were referred to Ms. Levari by another tutor when seeking out someone to help my 18 year old son place higher on the Compass test.  My son took 3 years of Math in high school and did Running Start in his senior year.  After graduating high school and completing as many classes as he could that didn't have a math requirement he finally came to the point Math was required for him to continue with more intensive classes.  By this time 2 years had passed since taking a Math class.  He took the Compass test, twice and placed in Math 084.  After studying with Ms. Levari he placed in Math 141.  It took a lot of hard work and commitment on his part.  Ms. Levari gave him homework and she expected him to have it completed at their next meeting, which he did.  Ms. Levari was patient and clear at explaining the process to him.  He studied with other tutors and Ms. Levari was by far the best with the most successful results.  The money spent with Ms. Levari was without doubt the best investment we've ever made.  Being middle class parents and financing our son's education without assistance, every dollar counts for us.  Not only did we save money (would have had to pay for a year of math classes at the community college to bring him to college math level), it saved our son time.  We would highly recommend Ms. Levari's services for your child's mathematic needs.”

“Dimona works with our girls to help them develop an in depth understanding of math principles.   Dimona is excellent at assessing their capabilities with a topic and then starting the one to one instruction at just the right point.   Dimona provides clear instruction in a supportive way so that the girls gain the knowledge as well as confidence in their abilities.  The girls are appreciative of Dimona's encouragement and enjoy working with her.”

“Dimona has been a part of our support family for nearly a decade.  My oldest son relies on her to ensure he fully understands the mathematical concepts to be successful in the classroom and in his testing.  I don’t believe he would have been nearly as successful without Dimona’s help or be as far along.  She appropriately pushes him but is able to manage to his limitations – tough love math.  I highly recommend her as a math tutor.”

“I have had the pleasure to be tutored by Dimona for what I think has been the best two academic years of my life. Besides her undoubted knowledge, Dimona is a pleasure to be around, and has an attitude towards education that makes you want to learn. She takes her time and doesn't skip over anything. She is meticulous, and open to all questions. I have referred many of my friends to her, and all have had wonderful experiences.”

“Dimona Levari is a phenomenal tutor. Being a visual learner, I have always struggled with math. With her help, I was able to pass the first semester of my Algebra 2 class with a B! I highly recommend her to all of my friends who I know also struggle with math, or just need some extra help. She is great for all skill levels and finding out how to work with a person to fit their learning needs.”

“I came to Dimona needing serious motivation and guidance through my Community College Math 90 course (the equivalent of advanced Algebra 2 for HS). She not only taught me the material in different methods than previous teachers, tailored to my personal needs, but also helped me manifest my own strengths in math that I wasn’t aware of. She is an excellent tutor and definitely took the time to get to know me and learn what I needed from her. I would recommend her to anyone because she can alter her teaching and guidance for most situations and is dedicated to making sure her students pass their class.”

"Dimona's passion and knowledge of the subject and connection with each of her students as individuals has enabled all three of my children to thrive academically and personally. She has truley been as asset in their education and overall development.

Her skill in adjusting her teaching style to help each child learn aidded my oldest son in filling in his learning gaps and supported both my sons in attending college at an early age. My daughter is the last of my children to take her math classes."

"I am a home school parent at Edmonds Heights K-12.  My family has been a part of this unique learning community for seven years, and it was my fortune to meet Dimona Levari three years ago.

My daughter, Ashley, is currently in seventh grade.  She is enrolled in Dimona's class, Transitioning to Algebra.

Initially, Ashley learned all of her math at home.  Toward the end of fourth grade, I knew that she was ready for a new math mentor, so I looked into options at our school.  I made an appointment for myself and Ashley with Dimona, and during the first few minutes I knew that I had found what I was looking for.

After half a year of weekly, private tutoring sessions with Dimona, Ashley was ready to join Dimona's rigorous classroom.  During the last two years I have watched as Ashley turned from someone who claimed not to like math, into a strong and confident mathematician.  Dimona speaks to Ashley in a way that garners respect, admiration, and attention.  I cannot imagine having a better fit for my daughter, and I look forward to enrolling my son in Dimona's classroom next year.

Dimona is a treasure to have in our community, and I am so grateful for her dedication to her students as individuals, as well as budding young mathematicians."

"My name is Gena Brown and I am a parent of a gifted student that Dimona taught for 4 years at Edmonds Heights K-12 (formerly EHRC). She is the one who discovered my son was gifted in math. When we left public school to homeschool my son, his math teacher at the time said he didn’t have an aptitude for math concepts. So when we started at Edmonds Heights everyone recommended Dimona for math. Within the first class Dimona pulled me aside and said, “Did you know your son was gifted in Math?” I was shocked.  From that point on, he flourished in her math classes. Not only did she challenge him, but she figured out how he learned best. Dimona has an amazing gift of teaching to every student’s different learning styles and abilities. She is wonderful at figuring out specifically what each student needs to achieve success and comfort in math.

Dimona really prepares the students for college math in her Advanced Algebra class. Also, the Students are prepared for SAT and ACT testing from her teaching methods. After being taught by Dimona for 4 years, my son at age 13 transitioned easily into Pre-Calculus at Shoreline Community College. With her high level of math knowledge, and genuine care for children she brings math to life for all her students.

I sat in the back of Dimona’s class for the 4 years my son was at Edmonds Heights and enjoyed every minute of it. I feel so blessed that we found Dimona, because she changed the academic life of my son in so many ways. I was constantly amazed at how in tune she was with each individual student. Dimona is a gift to the teaching community."

"Dimona Levari is an extraordinary math teacher. I have two daughters. I have homeschooled them from the beginning of their scholastic journey. Math was always a struggle for me to teach. I knew only one or sometimes two ways to teach a concept. When they started attending classes with Dimona, it seemed like she knew ten ways to teach a concept!  My girls often came home and taught me some of Dimona's "tricks", as they called them. My daughters have been in Dimona's classes since they were quite small and have learned from her all the way through Algebra II.

Dimona has an excellent way of coaxing out the reluctant math student. She can also challenge the more advanced student. She not only taught my kids mathematical concepts, but she made it fun. The kids often laugh about some joke or story that Dimona told. She strives to keep her students engaged and participating in class. It is obvious, that she really cares about her students and wants them all to succeed. "

Sarah Burnett

"Dimona is extremely skilled in teaching Math, and works well with parents and other staff.  My kids were able to follow along with the fast paced teaching of the program at Edmonds Heights and picked up the skills easily because of her knowledge and expertise in explaining the subject.  When there was testing, she was always available for extra help and offered study sessions so students could be extra prepared.  She was also very accessible to the students, answering questions in a timely manner by email and also giving out her cell number.  When my son had some issues taking his placement test for Running Start, he called her.  It was her day off and she was able to advise him, which was significant in him being successful on the test.

Dimona also really enjoys teaching and has good relationships and rapport with her students.  She takes an interest in them personally and supports them in their outside endeavors.  Junior high and high school can be a challenging emotional time for kids and she encourages them and offers a mentoring type relationship for the different challenges they may face.  I particularly appreciated Dimona helping me out when I was struggling with parenting my teenager.  She offered great advice to me as a mom, and also was able to subtly encourage my teenager in making good choices and stepping up in his maturity.  Dimona is the type of teacher that kids remember when high school is long past, and that they come back to visit.   She helps instill character in her students as well as confidence for academic success."
